Image Licensing

Image Licensing & Usage

Photography is more than the moment—it’s the rights attached to it.
This page outlines how images created by Raw But Meaningful Photography may be used, shared, and licensed.

Ownership & Copyright

All photographs created by Raw But Meaningful Photography are protected under U.S. copyright law.

Unless otherwise stated in writing, Raw But Meaningful Photography retains full copyright ownership of all images produced.

Clients receive a license to use the images—not ownership of the images themselves.

Personal Use License

For portraits, engagements, weddings, and lifestyle sessions, clients are granted a personal-use license, which allows for:

• Personal printing and sharing
• Online posting (social media, personal websites)
• Archiving for personal memories
• Personal-use licenses do not allow images to be used for advertising, resale, or commercial promotion.

Commercial & Brand Use Licensing

Commercial use includes (but is not limited to):

• Business websites
• Marketing materials
• Social media advertising
• Product packaging
• Editorial or press submissions
• Brand partnerships

Commercial usage requires a separate licensing agreement tailored to the scope, duration, and platform of use.

Licensing ensures:

• Proper attribution
• Legal protection for all parties
• Fair compensation for creative work
• Custom licensing is available for brands, businesses, and organizations.

Editorial Use

Editorial usage (magazines, blogs, publications, press features) may be permitted with prior written approval.

In many cases, editorial usage requires:

• Credit to Raw But Meaningful Photography
• Non-commercial context
• No alteration beyond basic formatting

Image Alteration & Filters

Images may not be altered, heavily edited, or filtered in a way that misrepresents the original work without written consent.

This includes:

• Extreme color changes
• Cropping that removes artistic intent
• AI manipulation

Social Media & Credit

While credit is always appreciated, it is not required for personal use.

For commercial or editorial use, credit should appear as:
