Cancellation & Refund Policy

Retainers & Booking

All sessions and events require a non-refundable retainer to secure the date and time. The retainer amount is applied toward the total cost of services and confirms your booking.

Dates are not held without a paid retainer and a signed agreement.

Cancellations by Client

If a client chooses to cancel their session or event for any reason:

• The retainer is non-refundable
• Any additional payments made beyond the retainer may be refunded at the Photographer’s discretion, depending on timing and circumstances

This applies to all services, including but not limited to portraits, engagements, weddings, events, and experiences.

Rescheduling

Rescheduling requests are handled with care and flexibility whenever possible.

• Requests made more than 72 hours prior to the scheduled session may be rescheduled once, subject to availability
• Requests made within 72 hours of the session may result in forfeiture of the retainer

Additional rescheduling requests may require a new retainer.

Weddings & Large Events

Due to the scale and preparation involved:

• Wedding retainers are strictly non-refundable
• Cancellations within 90 days of the event are not eligible for any refunds
• Payments made beyond the retainer are non-refundable unless otherwise stated in the signed contract

No-Shows

Failure to attend a scheduled session without prior notice will be considered a no-show. In these cases:

• The retainer and any payments made are forfeited
• A new booking and retainer will be required to reschedule

Weather & Force Majeure

For outdoor sessions, weather-related decisions are made collaboratively.

If severe weather, illness, natural disaster, or other circumstances beyond either party’s control (force majeure) prevent the session from occurring:

• The session may be rescheduled without penalty
• Refunds are not guaranteed and will be considered on a case-by-case basis

Photographer Cancellation

In the unlikely event that the Photographer must cancel due to illness, emergency, or unforeseen circumstances:

• All payments made will be fully refunded, or
• A comparable replacement photographer may be offered (for weddings/events), subject to client approval

The Photographer’s liability is limited to the return of payments made.

Refunds for Dissatisfaction

Photography is a creative service. Refunds will not be issued based on subjective dissatisfaction with artistic style, composition, editing, or creative decisions, provided services were delivered as agreed.

Acknowledgment

By booking services with Raw But Meaningful Photography, clients acknowledge that they have read, understood, and agreed to this Cancellation & Refund Policy.
